Sleeping…….(ZZZZZ)

I remember in seminary a short time ago, I had classes all day on Monday’s.  Sometimes we had to drive from Bonham early in the morning to catch the 8:00 AM in south Fort Worth.  Then, we moved to Tecumseh where the drive was even longer and had to stay the night on Sunday night.  Needless to say, if the professor was not excited about his or her topic, I would dare to doze off a little in class.  I usually never sat in the front because of this reason, even though my good buddy JY liked to do so and urged me to do the same.

It seems as a society we are tired.  We cant sit still for a moment, otherwise, we will fall asleep.  I get to where I don’t even care to watch TV anymore because when I sit in that chair, it seems that the button has been activated.  With more technology at our fingertips, we do more and more in a day because of it.  And we are exhausted.

Where is our attention to the Lord in our sleepy slumber?  On a daily basis and/or when we meet the Lord in corporate worship with the saints?  Our attention spans are shortened these days and even having spent 5 to 10 minutes with God each day is stretching it for most believers I would “reckon”.

In our stewardship of life on earth, TIME is one of the blessings that God has given us to manage.  How we spend our time and manage it each day.  Will the Lord be happy with our management?

How did the Lord Jesus spend His time (a few examples):
”It was at this time that He went off to the mountain to pray, and He spent the whole night in prayer to God.”  (Luke 6:12)
”At that very time He cured many people of diseases and afflictions and evil spirits; and He gave sight to many who were blind.” (Luke 7:21)
”From that time Jesus began to preach and say, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."  (Matthew 4:17)

It’s not the fact that each of these verses have the word time in them, it’s that Christ was about His Father’s business and we should follow His example of setting priorities with our time including time to worship, to minister, and to teach the gospel.
Make the time now…..(Matthew 6:33-34)  God Bless, Brian
